A vow renewal ceremony

A vow renewal, such as the one pictured here, can be a very private affair just between the two of you or it can be an special occasion celebrated with friends and family.  Renewing your vows reinforces your commitment to each other.  Preparing for your vow renewal deepens your connection, allows you to re-affirm to each other what it is you love about each other and why you are together and can be an opportunity, if necessary, to work through aspects of your relationship that may not have been working as well as they could.

Why would you want to renew your wedding vows?

Here are some reasons why:

  • You may have been going through a difficult period in your marriage where the relationship has been strained for some time. With improved communication and attention to your relationship, you have been able to regain the happiness and depth of love that you shared before. In this situation it can be really helpful to create a special ceremony to renew your marriage vows and your commitment to each other.

  • You may have always had a really good relationship with each other and have reached a point where you would like to celebrate and confirm this wonderful state by renewing your vows and reaffirming the depth of your love for each other.

  • Perhaps you got married far away from home or in another country and want to have a celebration of your marriage with your family and friends when you return home. A vow renewal is a special way of doing this that includes people who were not able to be at your wedding.

  • Some couples like to have a very simple vow renewal ceremony every few years, as way of keeping their marriage fresh and vibrant.

Whatever the reason, a vow renewal ceremony is a special and rewarding way of celebrating the fact that your marriage alive and well and of showing how much you value your partner and your relationship.

An anniversary blessing is a wonderful way to celebrate the special milestones in your relationship. A first, fifth, tenth, twenty-fifth anniversary - these, and others, are important days that mark how far you have come together.

Whether you have been married for one year or fifty, celebrating your anniversary is a way of marking a very special day - the day you both chose to commit to one person, to love and support that person to the best of your ability.

However much you love your partner, a relationship always has its challenges and to have strengthened your relationship though meeting those challenges is not something to be taken lightly but to be celebrated and rejoiced in.

A blessing is an opportunity to do just that.  To remind yourselves of the wonder of your relationship and how lucky you are to have each other.  It is an opportunity to demonstrate and reaffirm your love and devotion, either privately with just the two of you; or with family and friends as witnesses.

Whether you have been married for one year or fifty, celebrating your anniversary is a way of marking a very special day - the day you both chose to commit to one person, to love and support that person to the best of your ability.
